  • Trent RDSU User Involvement in Pre-protocol Research Awards Trent RDSU recognises that user involvement in pre-protocol workrequires financial support that may not be available from other sources. A number of grants of up to £500 are available to researchers in the Trent RDSU areaworking in health and health-related social care to promote the involvement of members of the public, patients or carers in generating and developing ideas and in proposal writing. The award must be used for pre-protocol work for studies where user involvement is a key requisite of a successful application for funding bodies. Priority will be given for National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Portfolio approved studies.

  • The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has launched several new funding streams. Details on the thematic areas, who it's for, funding, the process and criteria relevant to the individual funding streams and how Trent RDSU can help researchers is now available on our Information pages.

  • The 2008 Short Courses Training Timetable is now available in our Courses/Advice section together with the individual course descriptions.

  • Trent RDSU have launched a new Conference Scheme to help NHS and Social Care staff run conferences on active research or capacity building themes. The fund is only available to staff within the Trent RDSU geographical area.

  • It has been agreed that short courses delivered at each Trent RDSU site will be FREE for NHS and social care staff from September 2006. charges will remain for the New Researchers Training Programme, and for courses delivered on-site at local NHS Trusts.Our Eligibility and Charging Policy document sets out the guidelines to which all of the Trent RDSU units work to.

  • We have integrated TRIAGE – Trent Research Information Access Gateway into the site under our Resources section. This section holds hundreds of websites containing teaching tools, tutorials, articles and other educational materials relating to health research. The former Trent Focus Resource Packs can also be found here.
