Resources > Resource Packs > Using Statistics in Research
Whatever type of research we undertake our efforts can usually generate a considerable amount of data that represent our research findings and provide the basis for our conclusions. Statistical analyses are the methods most often used to summarise and interpret data. This pack aims to guide the researcher to select the most appropriate statistical test for the data in order to evaluate its significance to the research aims and hypotheses. It is not an "all-inclusive" guide but a starting point for those new to statistical analysis. This resource packs suggests further resources as well as supplying a glossary of terms.
